The Media Log
This is where I keep track of things I've watched/read/played. It will not include everything (because I am only allowed so many mb) but whatever stuck out to me.
Perfect Blue
I think it was 2022 when I first watched this film, and it was from an anime reccomendation video. Anyway, I decided to watch it one night and I just fell in love. The colors are soft and the animation is so lovely. I even wrote a paper on this film because of how unforgetable it is.
A Whisker Away
I don't often watch or take interest in romance films but at the time, I thought this one sounded really cute so I gave it a watch. It was probably also because I had Netflix so I didn't want to waste it lol. Anyway, it's really cute and I loved the animation, def reccomend.
Angel's Egg
I had this film on my "to-watch" list and watched it in summer of 2021. To be honest, I was both intrigued and a little frustrated when I watched it because I was super confused the whole time, but I really did like the mystery and quietness.
Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
I first heard of reborn from Pinterest where I came across a Belphegor art and was like "who is this?!", but it wasn't until months later during summer break that I actually watched it (and with my sister!) I really love this anime; its humor, characters, story, everything. Especially Hibari.
Mob Psycho 100
Methinks it was late 2020 when I watched this and what drew me in was really the artstyle and animation. Even the s1 opening, it was literally so good I could never skip it. Aside from that, I loved seeing Mob's character grow and how there was never a boring episode. I should def rewatch it.
Hunter x Hunter
So, funny story, I didn't know there were two versions--1999 and 2011-- so I watched the first one I saw (1999) and was confused when suddenly there were no more episodes. Upon a quick search, I quickly realized my mistake and just picked off on the 2011 one. Anyway, I will forever love hxh. I was probably sobbing at every episode in the chimera arc lol.
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
I like watching adult swim stuff so after I had finished s1 of Smiling Friends, I looked up similar shows and this one came up. Because of how popular it is/was, I knew a little about it but didn't think I would be so hyperfixated on it even if for a 'short time'. Master Shake is so cute hhh.
Kengan Ashura
Around this time, I had taken an interest in Baki and watched some of its eps, so I tried this one because I heard they were similar, and I just fell in love with Ohma. But seriously, I thought the animation was odd at first but it grew on me. I also love the fighting scenes and seeing the range of abilities in the characters.
Sally Face
I only actually got into Sally Face in like 2020-- super late, I know-- but I really liked it. I went through it one morning and didn't get up from bed until I finished it lol. The story is really cool and it got me interested in reading about bits of lore I missed once I finished, and I like the feeling that the artstyle gave me.
Five Nights at Freddy's
I know literally the whole world's played fnaf but I was obsessed with it when I was younger, even though the animatronics scared me at first. My favorite was Chica; normal, toy, didn't matter. I would consume literally any fnaf content the internet provided me with: animations, gameplay, theories, MMDs, anything.
Your Turn To Die
It was thanks to a fanfic writer mentioning this on their update posts that I was like "what the h is yttd??" Then I spent the whole night up playing the first chapter. Urghh I love the gameplay and how the music just stop when a character says something out of place. Literally gives me chills. I have yet to read the latest part but I will!!
Kindergarten
So, I don't remember how I even came to playing this game but it was really cool. Nugget was my favorite, maybe because his face is so funny-looking. I played Kindergarten before Sally Face but now that I think about it, they have sorta similar vibes with the whole 'weird school lunch' thing. I finished 1 and 2, never got to 3 but maybe someday.
Brutal: Satsujin Kansatsukan No Kokuhaku
I found about this manga online--I don't remember how, maybe another reccomendation video-- and just fell in love immediatley. The artstyle is sooo good and Dan is just sooo fine. Call me edgy but I love mangas where the mc just does revenge killing/ for the sake of a better society. Also, still waiting for that chapter update...
Jūjika no Rokunin
This was under the reccomendations of a manga app I had and, just from the cover art alone, I thought it was really cool and worth adding to my list. I have not yet finished it but I remember a good bunch, including how the mc would often save this one girl from danger. Sighh, I will eventually update this once I finish it.
Warau Kyuuketsuki
I was looking for vampire manga recs after suddenly becoming re-obsessed with them, and this was on a Reddit reccomendation list. I was quickly drawn to the artstyle but I spent my night reading this and scrunching my face very often; it's disturbing, but I also couldn't stop reading it. Actually, I haven't finished it yet but I should. Poor Luna, I love her so much.
Kami no Kodomo
I was on Pinterest when I came across an image of this manga and, as I always do, got sucked into wanting to know its source. So, I looked it up and read it, and was both intrigued and disturbed, but I finished it because it was short anyway. I was left feeling a little disappointed at the ending but truthfully, I don't know what I expected.
Litchi Hikari Club
I discovered this manga on Pinterest and got curious so I read it the same day. I didn't expect for it to be so gruesome right from the start but that should've been expected from the eroguro artstyle. Haha, it's a little gross but apart from the Hikari club, I did like the relationship that Kanon and Litchi had between human and machine. I'm a sucker for that trope.
Pumpkin Night
In my freshman year, beacuse I didn't have friends (sob), I loved to read horror manga during lunch, and this was one of them. The beginning got me hooked immediatley and I really liked it but the random panty shots were... excessive. Also, I never understood how they could bully Naoko because she was literally so cute, especially her bow.
Killing Morph
Another horror manga I read as a freshman beacuse I didn't have friends! I actually reaaally like this one because it's not the typical, human killer, but instead one with a cool ability to duplicate himself. I was being smacked left and right with its twists. Another thing I enjoyed is the artstyle, which is urghh so good. I def reccomend.
Shikabanechou Undead
This was also another reccomended one in the manga app I used to have, and because it's horror, I naturally gave it a chance. I don't remember much which is why I'm rereading it but I do remember liking that one blonde guy in one of the volume covers lol.
